The 2-3/16″ magnetic drill press is in a class of its own for tapping applications. The drill is equipped with reverse and variable speed ideal for tapping applications. This drill allows you drill your hole with a twist drill bit or annular cutter, then while you are 90 degrees over your hole, simply insert your tap and thread your hole up to 1-3/16″. In under 2 minutes you can drill and tap your hole. Intelligent electronics sense the hardness of the cutting material and deliver the proper feed ratio with the RPM’s the drill is set at. This will ensure maximum life for your HSS and/or carbide annular cutters. Speaking of safety, this drill has an integrated load sensor and will shut off the drill if to much pressure is applied by the operator. There is an indicator/display on the top of the drill to provide feedback to the operator. A powerful magnet with 4100 lbs. of holding capability ensure your drill won’t move. Also, a 2 speed gearbox to ensure you are always in the proper speed.
